Invite the participants into an Open Space discussion.
Participants can choose the group they wish to join, but once in a group, they need to self-organise to have a pen-holder and someone who will present the harvesting sheet. Other participants (not the pen-holder/presenter) are free to switch groups if they wish.

The harvesting sheet provided in Google Docs will structure the discussion so that the following information is captured for that particular group:

a) What kind of challenges is the industry facing regarding research and development?
b) What are the needs of the industry to overcome these issues and upscale the research and development programs, and what kind of EU-level tools could fulfil these needs?
c) What are the roles of different actors in the research and development support processes?

Breakout groups are the following:

Innovative advanced materials (smart and technical textiles)

Innovative green materials (bio-based fibres, recycled fibres)

Innovative technologies applied in production (digital technologies, key enabling technologies)

16:15-16:45

Presentation of group work and reactions from other groups.
